Semaglutide belongs to the class of peptide medications known as Glucagon-like peptide 1 (GLP) agonists. It’s commonly used for the management of diabetes as the GLP-1 hormone helps regulate blood glucose levels. While it’s not a type of insulin, it can stimulate your pancreas to release insulin to control and store your blood sugar in the cells so they can later be used for energy.

Additionally, GLP-1 has a significant effect on the movement of food through your stomach. It can slow down gastric emptying which may help you feel full for a longer amount of time while also regulating the areas of the brain that are responsible for your appetite and food intake.  By controlling your hunger, you’ll have fewer urges to satisfy your cravings to reduce your excess weight.

Our team at A Healthier You Wellness Center, will start you on the lowest dose of Semaglutide medication and we’ll safely increase your injections as you progress through your treatment.

Depending on your target body weight, your Semaglutide weight loss management program may take anywhere from 12 to 20 weeks.

 

You can receive as many sessions as needed until you achieve your desired weight loss.
